Spider-Men: The DSR comic review

Many a years ago (2005 to be exact) then Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada had said that the day the 616 normal universe and the Ultimate universe do a crossover is the day that they officially ran out of ideas. Fast forward to the Spider-Men mini series event that I finished and maybe it’s really not entirely true.

Know that before reading it, I was equal parts curious and cautious about this mini series  of bringing in 616 Peter Parker into the Ultimate universe where he runs into the new Spider-man Miles Morales but I’m glad that I read it. It was fun, plan and simple, to see these two interact with each other and with Peter interacting in the universe where their Peter Parker has died was pretty emotional. But it wasn’t all emotional cry cry as some pretty funny lines are on hand.

There wasn’t really much of a build up to the end of the story though which works out. That’s not to say the ending is enjoyable  but the final fight was kinda ‘meh’.

All and All, Spider-Men was a pretty good mini story before the whole Marvel Now comes in to take up all the news headlines. If the other big Marvel event “Avengers vs. X-men” was bumming you down, I recommend Spider-Men.
