Musical Showcase: Theory of a Deadman

I’ve been meaning to do more of these but either way. This band won’t show up on the next podcast but because they have a new video out for their new single, I figure I show it off anyway. The band I speak of is the Canadian Hard rock band Theory of a Deadman and they are this months Musical Showcase (well, one of them I think).

Theory of the Deadman or TOAD for short, has been around since 2001 and how they came to be known is that the lead singer, Tyler Connolly, slipped a copy of their demo to the lead singer of Nickelback, Chad Kroeger, at a party. That lead them releasing their first self-titled album. I actually didn’t hear about them until I played the game, Indigo Prophecy which had songs from their second album Gasoline. This actually help their music reach a wider audience even though the game itself is a cult hit. Their next album, Scars and Souvenirs made a few good impressions with a few of their singles such as So Happy,Not Meant to be, and, more importantly, Bad Girlfriend which was their first single to hit #1 on the mainstream rock tracks.

Now, TOAD is getting ready to release a new album, titled The Truth is… and the single out now, “Lowlife” has been on the the radio for a while with the music video for the song premiering on YouTube from their Facebook Fan Page. Surely, this is anthem for everyone that’s been called that.
